Weaving is important to me as an ancient craft associated with invisible labor and collective practices. The participatory nature of art can bring people closer either to new knowledge and optics or to each other. In my Collective Weaving sessions the frame and vertical threads are the point of the departure creating the space in which conversation between strangers could begin. The figure of the artist doesn’t broadcasts or teaches how she/he sees the world, but offers a dialogue.
